These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Glow Grades (the "Service"), operated by GlowGrades LLC, a California limited liability company ("GlowGrades," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, signing in, joining a class, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Glow Grades provides AI-powered adaptive practice, structured lessons, progress tracking, and live one-on-one and group classes for students in grades 1–12. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You must not misuse the Service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape content, or use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws.
Because Glow Grades is built for grades 1–12, we treat every student account as a minor account. To create a student account, a parent or guardian must consent to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy on behalf of the student, and must provide a parent or guardian email at signup. We will notify the parent or guardian when the account is created and explain how to opt the student out at any time. Teachers and adult users represent that they are at least 18 years old.
You are responsible for the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Glow Grades is an independent platform. Teachers who use the Service to find students and conduct classes are independent service providers, not employees, agents, contractors, partners, or representatives of Glow Grades. We facilitate connections between students and teachers and provide the underlying technology (scheduling, video calls, transcription, messaging, content tools). We do not employ, train, supervise, certify, vet, or guarantee any teacher's qualifications, claims, content, methods, conduct, or results.
Teachers represent and confirm to us, when they sign up, that they are independent service providers and that any teaching arrangement they make with a student or parent is solely between them and that student or parent.
The Glow Grades learning platform is free: there are no student or teacher subscription fees and no usage caps. Any fees paid to Glow Grades under earlier subscription plans were solely for access to platform features — they were not teaching fees, were not paid to any teacher, and do not establish any agreement between Glow Grades and any teacher about money owed to the teacher.
Live classes with a teacher who has set a price are paid for through the platform from a family wallet:
Any teaching fees, tuition, gifts, tips, or other payments arranged between teachers and students or parents outside the platform's payment tools are not collected, processed, mediated, or guaranteed by Glow Grades. We are not a party to any such arrangement and bear no responsibility or liability for any such transaction, including non-payment, refunds, taxes, or disputes about value-for-money.
Each user is solely responsible for their own conduct, statements, and content during classes, in messages, on profile pages, and elsewhere on the Service. Glow Grades is not responsible for the behavior, statements, actions, or omissions of any teacher or student, including anything said or shown during a live class. We do not pre-screen class content, messages, or interactions.
You agree not to use the Service to harass, abuse, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person; to upload illegal content; to violate intellectual-property rights; to attempt to circumvent platform fees by arranging transactions outside our payment tools after meeting on the Service; or to otherwise act in bad faith. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination.
If you believe another user has acted improperly, report it to glowgrades.ai@gmail.com. We will investigate in good faith but are not obligated to mediate disputes between users.
Live classes on Glow Grades are transcribed by AI: the class audio is processed in real time by our video provider (Daily.co), converted to text, and used to generate a teacher recap and a student-safe class summary. We do not store the underlying audio or video file. The verbatim text transcript is automatically deleted 30 days after the class ends; the AI-derived summaries (which contain no verbatim quotes) persist for the lifetime of the account. By joining a class, you consent to the class audio being transcribed for these educational purposes. You also consent to the recording of your own voice for the duration of the call. If you do not wish to be transcribed, do not enable your microphone, and inform your teacher in advance. The pre-join screen displays a brief notice about transcription before you join.
You acknowledge that other class participants may be located in jurisdictions with two-party-consent recording laws and that, by participating, all participants are consenting to the recording for purposes of these Terms.
You may delete your account from the Settings page at any time; deletion is permanent and cascades through all linked data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records. If you hold a legacy subscription, you can manage or cancel it at any time through the Stripe billing portal.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we suspect of fraud, or that pose a safety risk to other users. Where reasonable, we will provide advance notice and a chance to remedy the violation.
The Glow Grades software, design, branding, generated practice questions, generated lessons, and other platform content are owned by GlowGrades LLC or licensed from third parties and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service except as expressly permitted (e.g., personal printout of a worksheet or progress report for your own use).
Teachers retain ownership of any original teaching materials they choose to share on the platform (for example, whiteboard sketches and uploaded handouts). By uploading, they grant Glow Grades a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and deliver their materials to the students they choose to share them with.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content (questions, lessons, recaps, parent messages, student summaries) is always accurate or complete. AI-generated content may contain mistakes; treat it as a supplement to, not a replacement for, formal education or formal teacher–student agreements. Live-class video and transcription are provided by Daily.co; we are not responsible for outages, dropouts, or quality issues that arise from your network connection or from third-party providers.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GlowGrades LLC and its members, managers, officers, and personnel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of educational opportunity. Our total cumulative liability to you, for all claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service, shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months immediately preceding the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.
In particular, Glow Grades shall not be liable for: (a) any disputes, payments, gifts, transactions, agreements, or interactions between teachers and students or parents that occur outside the platform's documented features; (b) the conduct, statements, or actions of any teacher or student; (c) the accuracy or quality of any teacher's instruction; (d) outages or quality issues in third-party services we depend on (Daily.co, OpenAI, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Sentry, PostHog); (e) any decision a parent, student, or teacher makes based on AI-generated content.
When you create a Glow Grades account and provide a phone number, you agree to receive transactional notifications on WhatsApp at that number. These notifications include, but are not limited to:
Message frequency varies based on your usage of the Service. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any WhatsApp message we send, or by toggling the WhatsApp Notifications setting off in your account preferences (/settings or /teacher/settings). For accounts created on behalf of a child under 13, the phone number you provide is treated as the parent or guardian's number. We send messages about the child to this parent number only — never directly to the child — in line with COPPA.
We may update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be highlighted in a notice on the platform.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the applicable jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
